Smicha For The Layman
The Shul is offering a unique program that allows working people to study the topics in Jewish Law that will lead to receiving Smicha with Hashem’s help.
The group meets every Monday and Tuesday in The Shul (9540 Collins Ave Surfside) & studies from 8 to 10 pm.
Topics include the Laws of Shabbos (Laws of Cooking, washing, selecting etc. Muktzah, & Amirah LeNochri), Kashrus (Ta’aruves, Basar BeCholov & Melicha) & some business law.
There are regular tests given by the Rabbinic staff (Rabbi Aryeh Citron & Rabbi Eily Smith) as well as a bi-annual test given by Rav Avrohom Tzvi Wozner, Head of the Karistierer Bais Din of Brooklyn.
The fee structure is as follows:
$3,000 per year for Shul members (To become a member, click here >>>)
$7,000 for non-members
$18,000 for overseas students.
It is a four year program. Some scholarships are available.
