THE SHUL ~ OVER THE TOP

"Home is Where The Heart Is"

Rabbi Sholom & Rebbetzin Chani Lipskar launched The Shul 43 years ago with blessings from The Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem M. Schneerson (may his merit shield us). The Shul is recognized worldwide.

More than a synagogue, more than a community, The Shul is home to over 850 incredibly unique and beautiful families all sharing one vibrant Jewish heart. For some, it's a place to refuel, for others, it's where their spiritual journey begins. It is a full service provider where any Jew - regardless of affiliation - can come both day and night, to learn, to pray, join a special lecture or a holiday meal. Whether it be daily, weekly, or around holiday times, The Shul anticipates the needs of the community and satisfies them. We have you covered.

Through our outreach efforts, The Shul fosters close, personal ties with local Jewish residents, many of whom may never walk into a Shul or Jewish program. We are staffed by an exceptional team of Shluchim, Shluchos, educational professionals and administrators under the direction of Rabbi Sholom & Rebbetzin Chani Lipskar with their son, Rabbi Zalman Lipskar.

OVER THE TOP is a term The Rebbe wrote to Rabbi Lipskar to define their Shlichus mission to exceed expectations, to go beyond the ordinary and to reach new heights. The Lipskar’s have been leading our flourishing community with purpose and love ever since.

Education is the cornerstone of our community. The Shul is home to the CYS College, The Community Kollel, daily adult classes, weekly lecture series, Women's weekly Shabbat class and our incredible Child Enrichment Center. Our thriving Child Enrichment Center is a magnificent state-of-the-art structure filled with warmth, love and learning.

The Shul's neighborhood is comprised of Surfside, Indian Creek, Bay Harbor Islands and Bal Harbour. The Lipskar's put South Florida on the map as the best place to live an idyllic Jewish life which is now home to top rated kosher restaurants, modest boutiques a kosher market and steps away from the beautiful beach.
